So been testing out some drivers over the last year and stuff and came to like these ones a lot for the price range they are in now.
My problem is i'm starting to think about working the ball and becoming a lot more consistent off the tee than i was last year so my problem is.
FT-i for that little extra forgiveness but mainly dead straight shots
Or FT-5 that allowsfor a little more shot shaping
My concern is will the FT-i last a few years or will i progress beyond it soon and have to get something else to continue

Straight shots are almost never a bad thing so I would think the FT-i is the better choice. The stock FT-5 is not that much better at working the ball anyway and the FT-i is definitely straighter. If you struggle with getting drivers to go straight then this is your best option among the 2. The only thing I ever disliked about the FT-i is he sound. Also, pay attention to the shafts available. The FT-5 seems to have more shafts available off the rack than the FT-i.

I-Mix. Get a shaft that fits you well and an FT-i head now. You can then easily swap to the FT-5, FT-9 or FT-iQ. It's pretty inexpensive once you have the shaft too. Check Callaway PreOwned. Some great deals to be had there.

I have an ft-5 and I've hit the ft-i. The ft-5 does allow you work the ball more than the ft-i. Generally if your problem with a driver is that you hit it too straight you should go with that driver. The ft-5 in terms of working the ball is not as good as a lot of other drivers.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
