I've been using my Callaway x 11 wedges heavily for the past 3 or four years. Now the ball just rolls out, barely even checks up. I've been looking into a groove sharpener. I don't have a vice, which I am a little concerned about. Which ones are good and don't go dull? And can they harm the club if you use it incorrectly? Thanks.

EDIT: Have to get my flopadapolus back.

Couple of the members at my club have this. Its super duper sharp, so be careful. It'll scratch the face if you're not.

do you need a vice to sharpen it? or can you just hold it the club in your hand and sharpen them? And can you buy it anywhere else or only online? Thanks!

Why not just invest in some new wedges - if they are 3 or 4 years old you probably could use some new ones. The groove sharperner wouldn't be a terrible idea, just a hassle IMO.

Just my opinion though.

the deal is that I want to see how much sharper grooves will help my shortgame. My real problem now is the ball releasing, It's impossible to judge where to land it, and so the putts I leave myself are too long. So I don't want to spend $200 + on new wedges, also because I may get a new set soon, and I'd want them to match, either titleist or mizuno. Just want to know if this is a viable option.

EDIT: And what is the best one.

does the izzo medic work? Becase I don't want to have to ship it and this is less than 10 bucks.
