I have only been playing golf for about 2 years now. Really been big into it the past year. I have improved alot. Im consistently shooting low 90s now, should break into 80s any day now.

Im 5'11", 185 lbs. Not a huge power swinger, in fact one of things I think that has contributed to me hitting better is swinging slower.

I have the Adams A3 irons/hybrids and recently had shafts all changed to True Temper Dynalite high trajectory shafts. I also had them cut down about 3/4" to fit me according to True Temper's measuring system.

Ill be honest, this has been the best $200 I have spent in golf. Im not sure if its the shaft itself or the shorter length, or maybe the combo. But I hit my irons way better than I used too. 8/10 iron shots get high in air and look great.

With that being said, I do not hit my longer clubs very well. Im just now starting to get decent on my driver, but my hybrids and 3 wood... FORGET IT! And Im wondering if it has anything to do with shafts now? They are all the standard shafts the clubs came with.

So Im thinking about getting them all redone (3,4,5 hybrid and 3wood, driver). Anyone have any recommendations on some shafts? Id like something that I can continue to "try" and swing nice/easy tempo. Id also like something maybe a little on the lighter side. I perfer it lighter for some reason. Also wouldnt mind something to assist me in getting it higher!

Yeah, a local clubfitter would be ideal. You would pay more at a specialty golf store, but it would probably be a more accurate fit than a Golf Galaxy or GolfSmith. Once you have your specs and are comfortable with your swing, you can always reorder custom fit shafts/clubs from TGW.

6'5" here so yes....fitting is must with most clubs.

I buy off the shelf drivers and fairway woods, though. They are currently made plenty long. Adding length to these is detrimental to me...control issues....shafts get whippy....etc.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
