Nike released info on their new line of putters today. The line is called Method. It looks like there will be 5 different models (4 blades, one mallet), and they will run $249. This is the one that Cink, Glover, Casey, and some of their other guys have played for a lot of the season. You can see them on Nike Golf's website . They look really clean compared to Nike's previous lines of putters, and they may be worth a look when they hit stores next year. I dont know that I'll bag one, because I'm really comfortable with my Anser right now, but I'll definitely be giving them a look when they come out.

Do you think these will go over a little better than their previous putters?

Doesn't look clean at all to me.

I'm saying in comparison to the IC and the OZ series, I thought they looked cleaner. The sole does look to be a little bit busy, but looking down at the putter at address, you wouldnt see that. Either way, everyone has different tastes, no big deal.

While I guess I can understand Nike wanting to put out a premium putter line, I would think that people looking to spend that much money on a putter are going to buy a Scotty.

Unless they can get TW to start gaming one.

I don't think TW will be shelving his custom SC anytime soon.
I am really not that much excited about Nike putters. I like their drivers and I almost bought one (SQ 5900) and the VR irons look nice, but putters? Don't know. One of my friends plays an OZ mallet, he loves it but I don't like it at all.
My achievements:
Eagles: 0
Birdies: 18
Best Round: 89

I second this.

But the putter looks alright at best. The price tag is pretty hefty as well. In my opinion I think that the IC 20-10 and the Unitized blades (Leo, Retro, etc.) look "cleaner" than the Method. Just my opinion.

I definitely agree about the Unitized line looking cleaner than the Methods, I always thought those felt very nice, looked extremely clean, and I loved the concept of the single piece construction. I never really understood why they didnt take off. I never used one in a round, but everytime I looked at one in a store, it really felt nice. I especially liked the weighting. I never really made my mind up on the IC line though...

I know the indian vs. the arrow thing comes into play here, but how much of a difference do you all think this putter really made for G-Lover, Stewart Cink, and Paul Casey? I think Cink is the one that really stands out in my mind because he went from standard to a belly putter, and then back to a regular putter (when he started using the Method prototypes).

Well I'd be forced to say that the putter made a difference. Considering Nike has the stats to back it up. 66% of the majors this year have been won using the Method putter, and also a WGC event. It's just that I can guarantee that all 3 of these guys got fitted for the putter for the perfect length/loft/weight. They didn't get the putter off the rack.

I can also guess that if they found a similar-looking Scotty Cameron, Ping, etc. with the exact same length/loft/weight the difference in numbers would be around the same. It's just that if they used a Scotty, Ping, etc., they wouldn't be getting paid.

It's not really single-piece. They fuse the head and shaft and then put it through some sort of plating process that covers everything up.

I personally like the look of Nike's new putter. I do think it is a bit overpriced though.

Man, I never knew that! Thanks for the info. Not that I dont believe you, but where/how did you find that out? Also, are there any putters that are truly single piece?

I personally like the look of Nike's new putter. I do think

I agree, I kinda thought somewhere between $150-$200 might have been a little better price for it, but IF I'm spending any more than $150-$200, I know I personally would probably end up with a Scotty. With Nike trying to get a better foothold in the putter market, you'd think the pricing would have been a little more aggressive. Of course, compared to SC, it is aggressive, but still equal to other high end putters, such as Bettinardi's...

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
