Well I actually did something fairly smart. Instead of going by the factory specs on my clubs, I had Golf Works measure the loft on my MP-14 PW. Factory specs say 50*. It actually measured 48.5*. So . . . with that in mind, and knowing I hit that club about 120, I ended up getting the 52* CG12, which I am positive I will hit right at 100 yards (I actually tested a used 54 and hit it consistently around 90 yards max). As it stands now, I have 4 wedges: 48.5, 52, 56, 60.

I am going to play my next couple rounds with all of these. My guess is that I will probably ditch the 56 and 60 for a 58 with high bounce for bunker and green side rough shots. Going with the 48.5 and 58 set up, a 53* would be probably perfect, but I doubt you could bend a club weaker. For now, I just think the 52 will be a nice long wedge for me to have in the bag.

The Vokey oil can wedge gives you crazy spin. the con is the finish comes off after about 10 uses. As it rusts though it gives you even more spin and control which is cool. I would personally get the new Cleveland CG14 wedge. It has zipped grooves for forgiveness, control, and spin. I have it and love it.

Well I got the CG12 Black Pearl and I used it today. It feels wonderful. Pretty soft for a wedge and the weight is very nice. Perfect wedge for 100 yds or long pitches. I played a fairway bunker shot with it today too. Used my 60 degree quite a bit today and my 56 a handful of times. Debating whether I should drop my 9 iron, but I will probably keep it.

I would like to reiterate this. Just messing around with my CG14 in the front yard feels amazing because of the control.

I used a loaner 56 degree 14 bounce Cleveland wedge over the weekend. It was pretty good. I used it quite a bit.
I did not have a chance to fully test it but it appears I hit it around 80 yards on a dead hands full swing.

I do not feel comfortable hitting the sand wedge that came with the set for some reason off a firm lie.

I was considering getting the 50 degree Vokey Spin milled and having it bent to 51 degrees (to match my sets gap wedge) and getting a 54 or 56 Vokey spin milled to replace my sand wedge.

    • Day 3 - mirror swings/drills after my workout. Two seemingly good feels for me: feel like as the club reaches the top the weight of it/momentum of it pointing left initiates my "fall" into the lead side. Helps initiate the re-centering and some of the pressure shift. The second feel is like: as soon as the re-centering is over, begin to lighten the trail foot by feeling like my right knee in the beginning of the downswing essentially replaces where my left knee was at the top. This helps halt my sometimes ludicrous slide and greatly helps me get open.
    • Day 48 (17 Jun 25) - Into the net work today with the 5i - focus remains on the setup and proper weight shift.  Was not a perfect session as several were very heavy along with a couple of thin boys.  Finished up the day with a few pitches with the 52 (last set of 5 hitting to about 40 yds had 4 of the 5 in a 5’ circle (now if I could just do that on the course) - the errant one was a total mishit).
    • Day 260 - 2025-06-17 Played seven holes before it started thundering and then raining. Some good. Simpler.
    • Oh so that's how it's going to be. .... And to think I was going let you get away with wearing a white belt this weekend.
