Honestly I think the Cargo concern is silly. I don't see then being an issue. We are not allowed to wear them at our club but does it really matter? As long as they are neat and clean who cares?

Good for him. :) This is just one of the shirts I'm planning on getting for christmas.

It has a collar. :)

C'mon guys.....your posts are just going to be deleted, because their is already a thread about Cargo shorts or not.....lets get back on topic like Iacas suggested.

Noted.

I wouldn't mind playing more private courses due to upkeep but can't justify the price difference in some of them. Also, when I pull up in my Jetta, although extremely clean, I have gotten looks from Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes owners. No joke. My cousins and other fam have Lexus'. Maybe I should make them drive. :) I also agree that on muni's people are generally just out to drink beer and shoot the shat. Not always, but it happens. I prefer the semi-privates that have a great staff, nice clubhouse, and enforce the rules and courtesies that come along with the game while ensuring a comfortable, relaxing round of golf. I don't feel pressured to impress anyone with my game and I tend to play better. I'm always worried on a private course that someone is lurking in a sniper tower watching my every move and if I make the slightest divot (although I ALWAYS repair mine no matter what course I'm playing) I'll be promplty escorted out. :)

I felt this way when I originally joined my club...I felt these guys are rich as hell and Im here just playing a bunch of golf and paying my dues. I played 7 rounds before I won any money in our Saturday-Sunday game. Now really, it doesnt matter. Some of my fellow members stink to high hell and are just there to have a good time, and others practice more than Tiger Woods lol. One guy is a day trader. I guess he already hit it big this year, becasue he says he doesnt have to work again till April....He probably plays 6 days a week and practices 2-3 hours. He is a 1 handicap. Im at least 15-20 years younger than everyone, so they have had time to become successful. The way I look at it now, I am just there playing golf with my buddies. We all give each other verbal jabs here and there, and nothing is ever personal. After the round, I enjoy my $6.50 hot dog and cup of soup, and they order steak/seafood. Thats really the only difference.

Haha. I'm just a poor personal banker from the mid-west. I paid $3.00 for a bratwurst at a crap course Sunday and didn't really want to accept that it happened. :)

I often play at a couple local private clubs and I love parking my 2004 GMC Sierra work truck loaded up with ladders , and the bed full of sheetrock junk next some guys BMW or Lexus.

I have seen just as much abuse at private clubs by the plastic millionaires as I have at the local munies with the common blue collar .
