Hooking with Hybrid??!!

I bought a 3DX 18* Strong 3 hybrid a few weeks ago. Love the club and get really solid contact, but I cant stop hooking it!

I dont usually hook any of my other woods, and pretty much never hook an iron shot....

It looks like there is an offset in this hybrid, can that be the cause of the hook shots?

Check ball position its the most likely cause of your hook.Just mess around untill you find the right spot for this club.I would Open the face up as well to start with ,just to see where were at

I had this trouble with my Titleist 585h when I first got it too. Play around with ball position and opening the face. Mine is actually not closed, but when I really need it to go straight I've actually had the most consistency delofting it a bit and setting up and hitting it with my hands in front a bit.

Yeah, certainly play around with the ball position. It may be too far back in your stance.

Mine are offset some as well. I've grown to like this feature due in part to the higher flight but mainly to the ease of hitting draws or intentional hooks.

I've been working on release issues and this has resulted in some of my driver misses being well left. Sometimes a hooked 4 hybrid second shot is just what the doctor ordered.

I suspect that you are right....the set up is different from your other sticks.

I play it just inside my left heel, almost like a fairway wood, should I play it like a driver?? Its shorter than a wood and I feel like I'm reaching for it if I play it that far forward. I'll head out to the range later (weather permitting) and see if I can straighten it out.

It's a personal thing I suppose. I like my driver even with the inside of my left heel....3 wood about 2 balls back from that. I play most irons near the center...longer ones forward...short back, but all still close to center. The hybrids I play like in the same positions as long irons...just foward of center.
