perhaps they should do what azinger did for the ryder cup...go with the top 8, not top 10 and pick the 4 most in-form players leading up the cup competition. natalie qualified based on her 2008 performance, and did nothing for the whole of 2009. talk about an out-of-form player - she's it. totally lost her game in 2009.

I agree, bobs, choosing more players who are on their game would make the team stronger. Gulbis is still coming back from injury and Inkster hasn't played well this year...a sentimental pick. Still the event has been very exciting so far with some great shot-making from both teams. Looking forward to this afternoon!

Just have a look at the Rolex Womens golf rankings ( http://lpga.com/content/RolexRankings8-17-2009.pdf):

46. Kim
47. Inkster
48. Castrale
51. Gulbis

And its about the same on the LPGA money list - there are simply not enough players ranking higher from the US, so lots of "mediocre" players make the team obv.

She got the points required to qualify, not her first solheim cup either so she was a solid pick and of course she looks good on tv.

      That’s totally fair. I have my chipping issues which make my putter more playable in that situation. Really just confirming that while not optimal there comes a point where if you need to use a putter (for whatever reason) then the optimal mechanics breaks down. I know I’m a sample of one. 😂

      Well, that's not really a putt at that point. You could easily choose to putt that up the slope with a hybrid or something.

      Day 15 (August 26).  I missed practice yesterday, but otherwise had a 14-day streak going into it.  Somehow, some of my posts for this appear in my profile but I can't seem to see them (I hope I didn't break any rules that would cause them to be removed).  I am hoping I'll be able to keep doing some practice while I'm out to regain the red text.  Context:  am on vacation, this week with friends.  What was today's actual practice? Today, a friend and I decided to go to TopGolf;  it was kind of like being at the range with someone else's clubs.  And that's ultimately how I was able to use it for practice:  I don't practice choosing a target, lining up to it, and then hitting often enough;  that's what this place seems to be about.  In any case, we were there for 90 minutes, I was hitting for maybe 35-40 minutes of that time, and I did pick a target each time.

      Day 2 - (26 Aug 25) - Church men’s golf nine hole Captains choice.  Had grandson as part of our group - was a blast watching him drill the putts.  Love these no pressure sessions - great for going outside the norm on club selection.
