I recently had a family member move to the Nashville area and my wife and I are planning a trip down there in December. What is the golf season like down that way, and is there any chance of playable weather around that time of year?

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

The weather is usually pretty descent in this area. We have our bad days, but generally you can play almost year round! Assuming that some colder weather doesn't bother you too bad.

by colder are we talking 50's during the day or 30's? I don't mind playing in a wind breaker, but if I need special gloves, or a winter coat, I will take a pass.

I think you will be okay in December. I mean there are cold days but then there are days that are really nice. It seems like the worst months around here are more in Feb. or March. We have generally had pretty mild winters over the last few years.

thanks for the heads up. I think we are going to be there the week before Christmas. Our golf season pretty much ends around haloween. You might get a few mid afternoon 9's in around November, but they are usually hard to plan for. Since we are driving down, I know to bring my clubs and hope for some nice weather to get out and play 18 while I am there.

I was curious if you found any courses. I am heading down next month. My parents are moving down there and will be living outside of Nashville in Hendersonville. My mom has found a few courses for my dad and I to play, but I was hoping to find a local person to suggest some better options.
