For flexibility and playability.

From what I've read and from their looks, they appear that they are quite forgiving. However, it seems like it may be a bit more difficult to accomplish the delicate and finesse shots with them.

Is that the case, or do they still offer a good amount of playability?

I'm still playing a ping eye 2 sand wedge. I think they look sweet. I have a cleveland cg 12 that I have never bonded with. I'm thinking about trying the Iwedge52 or 54 with a good bit of bounce

I also have the Ping eye 2 SW. It will NEVER leave my bag, EVER!!!! It has been with me for ever and I plan to die with it. The other Ping wedges on the other hand a are very good. I play the M/B's 56* and 60* I like them a lot, but Im not married to them. I played the Ping 60* tour wedge (not the i) and it was very head heavy (hard to control). The new Ping wedges are supposed to be excellent.

I hit the iWedges at a demo day, and much prefer their Tour W Wedges, which I have been playing now for a few years. Love them.

According the Golf Magazine, Ping Tour has the least backspin (only 8,801rpm compare the vokey: 11,491rpm)

The good thing about the Tour wedge is it gets higher launch angle, 41.7 degree and maximum height of 72.3ft.
