Has anyone had trouble hitting there Sonartec 3 Wood off the deck? I love this thing off the tee but off the deck is a whole nother story. I can't get any trajectory on it off the deck so it is robbing me of distance. If I can't figure this out I might have to give up on it . I just want to know if it is just me or if anyone else had this trouble.

I couldn't find a product-specific website for Sonartec - just a few sketchy reviews saying some pros on tour played the clubs.

Thus, since we don't have the clubhead and shaft specs, we'll consider some general things which might be "keeping you down."

What is the kickpoint of the shaft on your 14º Tour 3-wood? A low kickpoint will help get the ball up, while a high kickpoint will help keep the ball down. Tour models assume you don't need much help in this area, and tend to have mid or high kickpoints. If the shaft is unusually long, this might cause control problems.

Tour models sometimes offer less loft than the standard model. The Callaway Hyper-X Tour I use comes in 15º - super for me - or 13º for those with rocket clubhead speed. Your 14º is a tad under "normal" 15º, which might not matter much since your driver is a moderate 9.5º.

Also, does the Sonartec head have...
* Less offset than your other clubs? (Offset helps get ball up).
* A square face

I'd take your driver, 3-wood and hybrid to your local golf shop. Find out how your Sonartec compares in general design and shafting to the other two. It might need a different shaft, or possibly just doesn't fit with the rest of your clubs.

Focus, connect and follow through!

There is a reason that club is a rocket off the tee. The center of gravity is higher compared to most 3-woods.

I had a Sonartec and experienced the same difficulties, same thing with my Ping G5 3 wood but not nearly as severe.

I suggest you trade it in and get a Nicket 4DX. This clubs has a super hot face, a titanium crown which helps to lower the center of gravity and is avail. is a 3+ (13*) which I hit extremely well from the fairway OR the tee.

Today I had an approach about 240 out and ended up pin high with a great trajectory. This says a lot because I'm not a very long hitter. Usually about 250-260 with my driver.

I don't have a five wood, I use a 3 Hybrid basically as my 5 wood/3 iron. I hit that really good and about 230 off the tee and about 220-225 off the deck. In the sonartec, I have a Fujikura Speeder Pro fairway shaft. I don't know the kickpoint on this shaft.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
