i've had a great season. first season in the last 3 years that I actually played. I took 2 years off, and then the golf bug hit me again and i dove in head first. I feel like my game is getting real close to it was years ago. I think with hitting the golf dome once or twice a week over the winter and my strength traingin I am doing now I can get down to a 6-7 handicap next year. I would be real happy with that. Hell i even shot a 74 this year, thats my lowest round in 7 years. I am going to be sad when the season is over, but I'm playin till the snow flies.

I still have a solid month and a half of golf left here but I would have to give this year a thumbs up. It's been a little up and down but mostly up.

I guess my highlights would have to be the following:

1) Shooting a -3 under par 69 in a tournament

2) Smoked our clubs Medal Play Champion, 7&6 in our Match Play Championship quaterfinals.

3) Tied my personal best of 3 birdies in a row.

4) Dropped over a point on my handicap which isn't easy to do as you get near scratch.

5) Made 2 Eagles

But the nicest highlight was my son winning his first golf tournament which was our clubs Junior Championship!

Hopefully I can add a few more highlights to the season over the next month and a half. I have to attribute my putting this year as the biggest reason for lowering my handicap and playing well. My main goal for next year is to get in better shape to gain some yardage off the tee. I'm still averaging 275 off the tee but I know if I was in a little better shape I could bump that up another 10 yards or so. At 44 years old now it takes longer to warm up before a round and it's only going to get harder,,,lol.
