Not for me...I am still having issues getting off the tee box, I am so frustrated that it is driving me crazy.

The good day was for my step-son. He is 7 years old and loves golf. It started Friday when he was hitting my impact bag. I sat down and started watching him and his swing was perfect at impact! He had the wrist bow and everything (something I have been trying to get for a couple months now). Anyway, we went to the course. He was smashing his drives! He hits his good drive about 85 yards (pretty good for a small kid). I usually let him play from around 100 and in. I worked with him on his grip and ball position and just let him swing away. He was making really good contact. His little 8i was getting up in the air and hitting the greens with some spin. His 6i was getting in the air.

I had to work with him on his putting alignment, but he was making good rolls too. On the 17th hole, he tee'd up about 100 yards out and hit a beautiful drive that rolled up on the green and kept going only to stop about 6 feet from the stick. He missed th putt but man what a hole.

I have also been working him on the feel shots like 8i chips from right off the green and wedge shots. It was cool to watch how good he was playing.

I told my wife that if he beats the ball around like this for another year or so then I will take him to my teacher and that by the time he is 16 he will probably be kicking the crap out of me!! Anyway, I was proud so I just had to post it up.

Congrats to you and your step-son, if he continues to like it it sounds like he has a natural feel for golf and could be pretty good one day.

Sounds like fun. He's chasing An Byeong-hun's record already.

Thanks guys. No joke, his swing is really nice. I have taught him not to swing out of his shoes and he really hits it where he is aimed....now a lot of the time he isn't aimed correctly but I have been working on that too.

Most of the young kids I have seen have a naturally good swing though, so it's nothing really big. I just need to make sure he doesn't get into any bad habits. He really enjoys it. The biggest thing for me is he is a lefty and I am a righty. Whenever I go to work on his grip or something, I have to grab his club and think about it for a minute. He keeps telling me he wants to play golf on tv....and I keep telling him that he can if he sticks with it and practices.
