Very cool.....good to see players doing little things like this..

In my Ogio Budlight Bag
Taylormade R11 Driver | Big Bertha Diablo 3W | Tight Lies 5W & 7W |
Big Bertha Diablo 24 degree hybrid | Slingshot 4D 5-PW, AW Irons | SV Tour 56* wedge |
Detour Newport 2 | Noodle Ball | Golf Logix GPS

Nice of him. If I was a millionaire top pro golfer I'd probably do things like that regularly. The gesture is exponentially more valuable than the $5K it cost him.

In the blue Colts bag:

Driver - FT-5 10°
Hybrids - 4DX 15.5°, 20°
Irons/Wedges - CI-7 4-GW, SW | "Free" Warrior 60° LWPutter - TiffanyBalls - various

That's awesome. Good on Angel Cabrera. I had mixed feelings on him coming into 2009, but everything he's done this year has screamed class act and awesome guy. He's high on my list of favorite players now, in part thanks to things like this.

He is quickly becoming my favorite golfer. Its unfortunate they don't televise him more.

Cynic in me can't help it: "Yeah, that's great. Real smart of him to wait until a limited-field event, too."

"The expert golfer has maximum time to make minimal compensations. The poorer player has minimal time to make maximum compensations." - And no, I'm not Mac. Please do not PM me about it. I just think he is a crazy MFer and we could all use a little more crazy sometimes.

Several years ago I followed Cabrera in a practice round at the Masters. He seemed like an unhappy golfer who didn't know how to smile. I remember his caddy was a little slow making it to the tee and Cabrera gave him one of those go to hell looks.

Glad to see he is really a different kind of guy. Very nice gesture.

I like Cabrera. He seems to have a hell who cares attitude but is a good guy at the same time.. Use to remind me of Arnie years ago. Chain smoking his way around the course...till he quit.

He is quickly becoming my favorite golfer. Its unfortunate they don't televise him more.

Thats because he has 2 major wins, and no othe pga tour victories.

but i agree one of my most liked players on tour. and hits the ball a mile!

2009 Masters...Perry absolutely stuffs iron on 16...Cabrera makes a "longish" birdie putt and shrugs his shoulders as if it doesn't matter...then the unraveling began and Cabrera wins the thing. Ruined my weekend because I was pulling for Perry, but Cabrera, when on his game, can beat ANYONE and seems to have the proper perspective on things. BTW, his caddie Eddie (not sure if he's still employed by Angel) was on "The Big Break" USA vs. Europe AND the first installment with competitors making a repeat appearance.
