Please critique my swing and let me know if you see something I could work on. I tend to fade the ball a little, but sometimes over swing and pull it or hook it. Sometimes I can get a nice draw. This ball in the video went pretty straight with a little push, but very little push. Thanks!

Beautiful course!! All in all your swing isn't bad. To work on I'd say: 1 Seems you are leaning over a bit much, which is causing you to counter it by putting more weight on your heels. Find a good balance point and then reach for the ball. 2 tempo / a bit fast (but not bad) 3 Posture is good, but try bending your knees a bit more Hope I helped

Just curious, what course is that?

The course is Arcadia Bluffs in Arcadia, Michigan. The course is unreal!! It is ranked top 10 public courses in the US. Ended up shooting an 85 with 42 freaking putts!! The greens are huge and really fast.

I KNEW that was Arcadia. Really wanting to play that course. Is it still around $200 a round? Shoot, I can remember when you could golf Pebble for that price.

You would look more athletic if you bend your knees a bit more and maybe stand an inch or two closer to the ball. Your positions on the backswing seemed fine too but it was hard to tell much from the video.

If you pause the video on the backswing, and then again at the start of the downswing, it looks like your backswing plane is flatter than your downswing plane, and your downswing plane looks pretty steep.

Still, the position at the top looks really good.

I believe it is $175 to play during the summer. There was a labor day special and we played it for $110. I also played it in the fall, where they drop their rates to $75. I would suggest playing it on a labor day special type of rate because it was somewhat different. In October, it gets pretty chilly and this past weekend was sunny and 75 degrees. Also the greens are much faster during the summer. I had 42 putts and I ended up shooting an 85. Most putts I had in a while, I usually have around 31-35 putts a round.

pretty solid swing....no coach here, but I think you're losing a little bit of your spine angle on the downswing. Could be swinging to hard which makes it difficult to stay balanced. The result is you have to stand up a little earlier.

As I said I am no expert, only know this because it still affects me when I overswing.

    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
    • Going one step stiffer in the golf shaft, of the same make and model will have minor impact on the launch conditions. It can matter, it is a way to dial in some launch conditions if you are a few hundred RPM off or the angle isn't there. Same with moving weights around. A clubhead weights 200-220 grams. You are shifting a fraction of that to move the CG slightly. It can matter, again its more about fine tuning. As for grip size, this is more personal preference. Grip size doesn't have any impact on the swing out of personal preference.  You are going to spend hundreds of dollars for fine tuning. Which if you want, go for it. I am not sure what your level of play is, or what your goals in golf are.  In the end, the golf swing matters more than the equipment. If you want to go to that level of detail, go find a good golf club fitter. ChatGPT is going to surface scan reddit, golfwrx, and other popular websites for the answers. Basically, it is all opinionated gibberish at this point.

    • Well the first advice I would give is to look at your swing. If you are swing out to in, it may be difficult to fix your misses with club adjustments. They would only be a bandaid. I use midsize grips because I have long fingers and I feel I have more control with them. I also have tinkered with shaft length and swing weight. But I know when I miss it’s because my swing was off.
