Hey everyone! I'm looking into getting a couple new wedges....a 52 and 56 probably. I'm looking at Callaway of course, because that's my sponsor :) jk

Anyway, I want just a normal 52, but I want the Mac Daddy grooves on the 56...btw, I'm looking at the X Forged wedges. However, after a little research I've found the bounce on the 52 doesn't go any lower than 10!!! I was looking for about 8 or so on the 52, and maybe 14 on the 56. Does anyone know can wedge bounce be altered by a club fitter? In other words, can I get the 52 with 10 bounce and have it turned into 8 bounce? Or am I just better off getting Vokey so I can get all the options under the sun :) Thanks!

In my bag:

I only know of two ways to reduce the bounce. Grinding the sole down would do it, but it will make the clubhead lighter and you have to know what your doing (I don't). Or bending the loft stronger, say bend a 54 to a 52, will reduce the bounce by a corresponding 2 degrees. I'd say the vokeys are probably your best bet, it seems they have just about everything you could want.

those are the only two choice i know of as well. i'd look around for a respected club fitter and talk to him before you make your choice, usually grinding the sole down won't make your club much lighter but it will be a tad lighter. nothing lead tape can't fix haha

this is the reason i didnt match my gap wedge to my sand wedge
my sand is 56/13 (see below) and gap is 52/08
i like the gap to have less bounce, to dig into the turf better (im a picker)

so i will be sticking w my vokey for a gap wedge
BUT, the x-forged is a VERY nice sand wedge, easliy comparible to a Vokey

You have identified a limitation of both the X-Tour and X-Forged wedges. Neither series has versions with bounce below 10º, except for some 9º bouncers up in the Lob range.

Vokey has dozens of variations you can choose from, and an excellent web site which explains "all about wedges." Cleveland has a decent assortment of low, medium and high-bounce wedges. Cleveland codes the bounce of a wedge on the clubhead with red dots (the more red dots, the higher the bounce), and also gives the actual bounce angle. Ping has low-bounce models in its Tour-W series and its Tour-W TS (thin sole Lobs).

It doesnt look like it. The lowest I see on their site is 10° bounce for the gap wedge. Unless Nike's custom shop can do it, you might be looking at Vokey again. Think you might be out of luck on this one.
