Today will be my first round with a Wilson Staff C:25.

I've played in a couple scrambles with them, but we got some distance balls in our gift bags and I was using them depending on the holes. Dunlop Distance (those mofos do go a long way - good ball for the money probably) and Maxfli something or other - lost that 3-pack on the front nine so those are jinxed.

the C:25s weren't biting like I thought they should, but when we turned in our card a lot of people were commenting on the hard greens - I'll give them another chance.

anything but Nike's and Taylormades.... they are both way over-rated and making their living off of name only, not substance.

Titleist Pro V1, although I am considering a switch to Nike One Black. Tried a sleeve last week and the distance and directional control surprised me. Now if I can only get them to behave on the green...

I either use Callaway Warbirds (24 for $20!) or the HX Hot's if I'm feeling lucky

Tried the new Noodle EZ Distance this week and I'm liking the results. Length is fine, feel is better than expected. Nice value for a 2 pc ball at $15 /dozen.

I'm currently playing the ProV1x and TM PentaTP side by side. I actually perfer the feel of the penta off of the wedges and the putter.

I have boxes of Pentas, Nike One Black, TM TP Red/Black, Titleist NXT, and Nike One Vapor in my closet. My newest pickup was the Nike One Vapors from lostgolfballs.com so I was playing them for a few weeks and really like them. Went out to play a round in some windy conditions the other day so I took a sleeve of my TM TP Reds with me and was reminded of why I fell in love with them in the first place...I dont think you'll ever find a better ball to use in windy conditions. So good around the greens too! Had my best round in about 6 months.

I got 2 dozen Callaway TourIX from my dad for christmas and just ran through the rest of them on a 4 round golf vacation with him. I picked up a dozen of the Pentas and they seemed nice. Pretty soft feeling around the green. Only grip is I seemed to lose some distance on drives but that could just be the softer/wetter fairways in SoCal then I'm used to in the phoenix area. And I can make 1 ball last about 1.5 rounds so I see durability and thses seemed to get scratched pretty easy.

I had been using the Pro V1 until a recent trip to Hawaii. I found an NXT Tour on the second hole at Wailea Emerald and fell in love with it. It fits my game and bought a couple dozen when I got home.

Ha! I'm at that point where I'm not good enough to really notice all that much of a difference in balls. Yet I find that I hit TM Pentas really well just because I "think" they're better. I hate paying so much more money for a "feather in Dumbo's hat" situation.

New or used Pro V1x, i would pull off the used Pro V1x in a very tight and OB prone course, otherwise i mostly play new ones in a fair course. Pro V1x is pretty durable, one new ball would last 1-2+ rounds of 18 holes without much damage on the cover.

I really like the Bridgestone E6, or the Srixon Softs. I am looking for a cheaper ball that i can carry if i start loosing the expensive ones... A buddy of mine told me to try the Maxfli Low Compressions... I guess I have to make a trip to Dicks...

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
