I hit my driver about 270 yds on average, and my 3W about 250 yds. I like the way my Titleist Woods feel, but my Taylor Made, though in a S-Flex, feels flimsy compared to the others. I'll hit it about 220-230 yds. But my confidence level is going way down on my TM.

What club would you recommend to replace the Taylor Made, given my specs? Should I stay within the realm of a Hybrid?

909h. I put one in to replace my burner rescue 19 degree. Can hammer it to 230 but usually get about 215-220 from it and it will shape left and right pretty easy. Really my go to club for lay ups on long holes and long par 3's.

Why are you losing confidence in it? I think TM's have the easiest hybrids to hit.. if you're losing confidence I don't think you should move to titleist's as it's for lower handicapped players...

Have you looked at Adam's line? Their peanut 2 has gotten rave reviews.. i'm actually going to go demo the Pro Black hybrid they're coming out with to see if i'm good enough to use it sometime this week...

I actually hit my Titleist 3W much more consistently than the TM hybrid. I have a natural fade in my swing, but the TM gives me a little draw sometimes. When I set up for the draw, I push-fade or slice the thing. I cannot get a consistent hit with the club.

My ball striking is pretty good, it's just that my short game, especially my putting, sucks (over 36 putts/round).

The rescue mid stock shafts are definitely soft so try the 909H to complete your Titleist bag. If you want to try others, I'd have to say check out the Adams Idea Pro (Gold). The Pro comes with aftermarket Aldila shaft and the Pro Gold comes with a Mitsubishi Javln FX which should hold up a lot better.

Thanks. Do you know the weight difference between the shafts? I think the Aldila Voodoo shaft is around 93 grams. I like my clubs on the heavier side. Let's just say that my bag is insanely heavy compared to others.

If you don't like how the head sets up then go and demo a hybrid that suits your eye. Otherwise just get that thing re-shafted with a shaft that fits your swing profile. If it still doesn't work you have an aftermarket shaft to put into a different club. That is exactly what I did with my 5 wood, hated the stock shaft but didn't mind the burner head so I had it re-shafted and now it has become a very very reliable weapon.

I thought of re-shafting as well, but I think it would be the least cost effective way. I would want a stiffer, heavier shaft. I like the Voodoo shaft on my 3w.

That is interesting as I've felt the Titleist voodoo to be a bit whippy for my tastes. Regardless look into finding a pulled Voodoo on the bay or just go ahead a buy a 909h since it comes stock in them.

I'll check out ebay. I would totally buy the 909h, but I just purchased the 909F2 last weekend. I might put my 3-iron back in the bag for now.

Thanks again.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
