I noticed that clubs were going for pretty cheap across the summer, then there was a huge spike in prices around september. Now, it seems that it's dropping again. Maybe it has something to do with the economy?

It most likely has to do with the fact that a lot of new clubs are coming out so people are holding off on their purchases to either wait for the prices to drop or to buy the new items..

personally - when it gets cold out I end up sitting inside and looking on line and getting tempted to ho myself out to more golf stuff!

You got them from a store or from ebay?

Biggest problem I have with EBAY is what some charge for shipping. There is no way it costs $25 to ship a golf club using UPS ground within the US.

I used to buy most of my stuff off e-bay. I always found that the best time to buy was January - February. The prices seemed to be a little lower since there looked to be fewer people bidding and buying. When you got into April - June, that was when I tried to avoid buying (but probalby a good time to sell). My observation was always that more people were looking to buy stuff at the beginning of the season, and it tended to drive the prices up.

This is mostly based off of used clubs. New and new model clubs could be a little different since it varies when a new model comes out and an old model is going away.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Thats cause ebay doesnt take a % of the shipping cost. Some auctions are buy it now for $1 and shipping of $55. I think ebay nixed those however.

But as a guy who (casually) sells stuff on eBay, you aren't just paying the shipping, you're also paying for me to package it, drive to the store, deal with sending it, etc. You're paying for my time. The shipping price is posted ahead of time, so it is what it is.

Well as a casual buyer on EBAY I'm not interested in paying for someone's time.

It behooves sellers to be reasonable with your shipping prices because buyers factor the shipping costs with the auction amount for the total amount they'll end up paying. Two auctions for identical drivers with $100 prices will go to the one with the lower shipping 9 out of 10 times, imo.

I agree with that, I buy and sell a decent amount of clubs and it is a pain in the A** to do ship them...
