I read something in the latest Golf Digest about chipping being ill advised on soft turf. Chipping is something that I basically learned this year, but lately have been duffing some of them, and am now thinking that it may because of the turf conditions. I play year round here in Portland (i.e. sopping wet) so the question is what do I do if I can't chip? Pitch everything unless I am close enough to putt with my 7w (bump and run, I guess)? That is pretty much what I have done in the past, but am looking for better ideas.

Thanks,
greg
