I play X20's, and have hit the X22's, and found no difference between the 2 clubs, other than some slightly gaudier graphics on the 22's.

Please stick with the x20's...the x22's aren't worth it.

I think leo3 and Lean have it right.

I hit both this spring, and found that the X22 gave me about +2 yards in distance. Other than that, couldn't tell much difference. Also, I was able to get a slightly used X20 set - with 3 iron - for $400 (X22 was $700).

In stock shaft, the X22 has a green-label Uniflex High Launch shaft (TT) rather than the older blue-label Uniflex. The Callaway handbook specs on the two shafts are identical - 121-106 grams weight | midkick | low torque - so I'm not sure how the shafts differ.

The X20s are solid clubs. They get the ball up, but don't balloon it like the Big Berthas. If you don't have much time to work on your game but have decent swing speed, they are ideal.

If my swing grooves a little better, I might switch to the X22Tour with a lightweight regular shaft. The X20s with the large head and bore-through hosel are a little sticky out of the rough (other posters have said this too). And the X22Tour felt great when I hit one solidly. With X20 I could tell if I hit a bad shot, but not much else for feel feedback.

Even if I switch, I'll be glad I played X20s when reworking my swing.

Im looking at going from the X-18's to the X-22 Tours or better. Im not a pro player or anyhthing, but something about "forged" irons scares me. Like I wolnt be able to hit the ball properly.

X22 Tours do have a smaller clubhead than the X18, X20 and X22 models, but are not blades. The X Tour model is the blade.

According to the Maltby Playability Factor, both are considered Game Improvement clubs. * X22 Tour MPF = 594 * X-Forged MPF = 621 X22 Tours might be something to consider if you have time to work on your game. Also, they would help you keep ball lower, if that's something you need. If you don't get to practice much, might want to stay with the X18s. For details, search Ralph Maltby's website, and the Golf Digest equipment reviews. http://www.ralphmaltby.com/

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
