Since 02 MacGergor has made very good quality equipment, but its never recovered from when they sold out to K Mart, which was real junk. The NVG2 metals, (woods/drivers) are excellent and very forgiving. IMO, you can't beat the quality for the price. I don't like their hybrids, but its more of a asethic thing for me.

Gotta love people ragging on companies without giving an explanation why they don't like it. Unless you have a legit reason to dislike these clubs keep your posts to yourself.

I'd second that

Just getting back into golf after many years away. I bought the 2008 MT Mids irons, the MT 3 and 5 woods, and the 3, 4, and 5 MT hybrids off E-bay, at distressed prices. I love the irons. The MT fairway woods were okay. The hybrids I couldn't hit for diddly. (I'd never hit hybrids before these.) Dealer gave me a hell of a deal on a brand new MacGregor Mactec NVG2 Driver, that I can really smack. I love it! Because of the driver, I decided to try some Mactec NVG2 fairway woods. Started with a used 7 wood from my dealer, and ended up buying 3 and 9 woods off E-bay. I'm working on the 3 wood yet (better off the tee than off the deck), but I really like the 7 and 9 woods. I hit my 4 and 5 irons pretty well, and the 7 and 9 are a nice fill-in between the 4 iron and 3 wood. I bought the 7 and 9 woods on a lark, thinking it would be fun to just try something I'd never tried before, in addition to the fact that I couldn't hit the hybrids, and my 3 iron was almost a duplicate of my 4 iron, with respect to distance. The wussie woods are staying in the bag now though. BTW, got stiff shafts on all the woods. I was told they are more flexible than most stiff shafts.

I'll take those 3-5 Hybrids off your hands for the right price. Those also stiff shaft? I can email you a FedEx label, so shipping would be super easy too.

I really only want the 4H though, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have a complete set. Lemme know.

Macgregor designs and grinds all their irons in Albany, Georgia.

FYI, the factory in Albany closed in, I believe, 1999. I used to live there and I remember it was a big deal when they left. Not sure where they're made now. I think the moved overseas.

I've owned one or two MacGreggors over the year. Never tried their irons. From what I'm told their custom made clubs from the 80's and 90's were a thing of legends. They were the ultimate in high crafted custom irons.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
