Hi all,

I am trying to find face-balanced putters. I know most of scotty cameron putters are. Are there other brands such as ping or odyssey?

Thanks,

Hi all,

Actually most of the Camerons are not. I believe the Fastback and Squareback are.

Most brands offer a face balanced model. Odyssey: White Hot Rossie, #5; Black #3, Ping: Redwood Piper; (there are two other Pipers - one is balanced the other is not (weird) but I don't remember which... Most of the giant head mallets are face balanced (Odyssey 2-ball, Ping Craz-E etc...) Best deal going for a milled putter - look for closeouts on the Mizuno Bettinardi C-series line. <$100 here: (35" is all that is left) http://www.budgetgolf.net/MIZUNO-C-S...5-p-22030.html

Not trying to be a wiseacre...but got to the store....hold up any putter and balance the shaft over your index finger.

It will become imediately evident whether or not it's face balanced. You'll also have time to demo the wand.

Good luck. Finding a putter that fits is huge!!!!!!!

Hey tjy355, is BudgetGolf legit? I am interested in purchasing a putter from them, but I don't want to buy a fake.

Rife putters are face balanced and offer a decent selction of styles.

I've just started using a Rife Antigua Island Series putter. It is Anser style but obviously face balanced. It is taking some getting used too as I've not played a face balanced putter before. That said, I do like the feel and the ball seems to roll very smoothly when struck well - whether this has anything to do with the grooved face I don't know but I would certainly recommend putting a Rife in your hands for a test run.

Driver - RAM FX V
3 Wood - Callaway Steelhead Hybrid - Mizuno MP Fli-Hi 21 degree
Irons - Titleist DCI 4-PW
Wedges - Cleveland CG10, 52, 56, 60 degree

Center shafted putters tend to be face balanced. If you have a straight-back-and-through putting stroke, face balanced makes more sense. Closure rates on face balanced putter are lower, so they suit straighter putting strokes better.

PING KARSTEN C67 is center shafted and faced balanced.
if you dont know already, read some of the internet reviews on the Karsten series putters. I play a B60 and love it, but may switch to the C67 since my swing is more straight back straight through...

at $89, its worth a shot.

    • I am currently playing a Cobra Ltdx LS 9 degree driver and Cobra Ltdx LS FW3. Both with Tensei White stock stiff shafts and original weights of 12g (heel) and 3g (toe). My miss is usually a pull fade or sometimes a slice, swing is out to in. Driver swing speed about 112 mph. Grips are stock regular. Intended change: Driver: Switching to Tensei White x-flex one inch shorter which I suppose would be 44,5? Changing heel weight to 18g. Changing grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Change hosel setting to standard draw. FW3: Changing heel weight to 16g (apparently not available in FW weights, but supposed to be something called "internal weight" a club builder can add which fits between the weight and the screw?). Change grip to Golf Pride Z-grip cord midsize. Changing hosel setting to standard +1. The goal is to 1) get better grip since I tend so lose grip in warm and moist conditions with the current grips and 2) mitigate the misses to start more straight with less side spin. Also considering adding the Cobra Ltdx LS FW5 instead of my old Taylormade R9 and getting 14g heel and 6g toe weights with the same grip as the others and hosel setting standard +1.   All of the above is based on conversations with ChatGPT and, as everyone knows, it can come up with pretty much whatever but I spent a few hours asking about different perspectives etc and this was the recommendation. So, my question is basically, does it make any sense?   Thanks.
