How recently did you start?

What type of driver are you hitting? Do you like it? Could you picture playing a wood similar (albeit smaller with more loft) to your driver? If you think this sounds good, check out different 3-7 woods. Do you carry/play long irons? I'm thinking of a 2, 3 or 4 iron (I can guess this answer). Do feel relatively confident with irons greater than a 6 iron? If you like your long(ish) irons, check out 2-5 hybrids. Stuck somewhere in the middle (i.e. you like/dislike woods and irons equally) but perhaps lean slightly towards the iron/hybrids route - I have only one word for you - Fybrid (WS Fybrid - check it out).

i have a callaway c4 driver and i strugle with it and a guy at the driver range helped me out by letting me try his driver and is was a huge difference he said i didn't generate enough club speed for that type of driver and shaft stiffness so i have a adams driver like his coming he also let me try his nike hybrid the square one and i liked it but i've never tried a fairway wood
as for as my irons i hit my 3 iron better then my driver as for as consistencey sometimes i even use it to tee off because i can control it better

Obviously the "Burner" line is for people like you and me, they are game improvement clubs that almost hit themselves. All the praise given to the driver and rescues is deserved but overshadows the fairway metals. The #3 FW is the most remarkable club of them all. See if you can find one to try, it is so easy to hit well that I am not even tempted to tee it up on the box. I am old and remember when I was taught to play, the wisdom was that longer shafts are harder to hit, hence the avoidance of long irons and drivers; has truly worked magic, they use very long shafts to increase SS and yet they are easy to hit too! A club should make you really glad you spent the money, try the fairways and rescues.

Honestly, When scoring on a Par 5, if your driving the ball 250, the longest par 5 I have played is 617 yard. So lets say you hit a pure drive. Your sitting 367 from the green. I would grab my 4 iron or 4 hybrid, considering the ball position and advance it 200-205 yards. Then your sitting with a 167 yard 7 iron shot to the green, and 2 putt for par. Now thats on a really long par 5. In most cases if you were able to hit a solid 5 or 6 iron to "lay up" to the green you could chip on and have a birdie opportunity.

The whole point of my post was that I was always going driver then 3 wood on Par 5's...trying for that eagle. Realistically, Im not getting an eagle unless its a short Par 5 <500 yards. I found that I score much better when I lay up to a comfortable wedge distance, put it on the green, and leave myself 2 putts for par, instead of slicing or chunking my 3 wood and putting twice for double.
