I go here and Archery Talk and AT has just put out a notice of 50,000 members. I know golf is much more popular than archery so where in blue blazes are all the golfers? Is this forum so new that it hasn't gotten around the golfing world yet or what?

There are lots of forums out there which is proably the problem.

I only found this forum after googling Scotty's Custom Shop, and saw the article by Erik. So far I've found it to be very good - but people have to remember that others have an opinion and it may be different to yours but just as valid.

You can look up when the forum started (look at when I "joined" for example).

We've had about 50,000 members, too - but I delete any "member" who hasn't logged in for 30 days and who has 0 posts. I do that regularly, and that keeps the list to "active" members or at least members who have posted. Other forums who like to brag about their user numbers don't delete such members (or spammers, or whatever). Also, our site doesn't require registration - you can read all the forum entries without registering. And finally, AT is a forum with a few articles. We're a website that also happens to have a forum. Big difference. Besides, unlike golf, it's not the quantity that's important, but the quality. I dare say we have some awfully good forum members here.

I'm satisfied with that and I hope we grow with good quality members in the future. I think I found this forum by going to Google and posting in "Golf Forums" and The Sand Trap came up. Glad I did it.

So recommend it to your friends. But again, I'd rather have quality over quantity. The last thing I want is to spend all day just trying to keep up with a forum.

Actually I was just thinking today about how much the forum has grown this summer. And topics primarily stay on track with little verbal abuse included. Give the writers here another year and I think you will be surprised with the traffic

My wife runs another forum, but it is just a general interest forum and they have never had more than about 50 members. I found this one while googling for something else and I browsed through and found a lot of things to like about it. I am really enjoying it and hope I am being a good citizen of the forum.

Amen brother. It's all about the quality of The Sand Trap. Like another member above mentioned, the forum has grown quite a bit in the past couple months. It has picked up more and more and will continue to do so.

The Sand Trap is my favorite blog as of late, and thats what has driven me to start posting on the forum. Golf is becoming a much larger interest for me. (i got tired of all the tech and video game news sites). Golf is so much more fulfilling.

As for these forums they're great.. Whether there is 50 or 50,000

I'm terrible, but i have fun.

Fortunately, I haven't seen any trouble makers!

Most of the "troublemakers" here are the people that register and then post spam immediately. If that's as bad as it gets, good.

BTW, if you ever see something "spammy," click the in the top right corner of the post to send the administrators and moderators a message.

Golf Digest used to have a forum on their web site and it was rediculous how many loud mouth idiots were posting on that site, they must not have had any moderators or anything. This site rocks and I'm glad I found it. Thank you! Keep up the great work!!!!!
