Hello, Fist time in this forum. I am just beginning to pick up the game of golf. Currently I am borrowing a set of APT attack series clubs from a friend. I am ready to purchase a decent beginner set of clubs. I have done a little internet research as well as visiting a few golf stoes in my area. In addition, I have consulted [over the phone] with a person in my local area who makes custom clubs. He has suggested that I look at some of the heads from Maltby. In looking at the GolfWorks website, they offered several different styles. The web site discussed the MPF Maltby Playabiliy Factor and related information. My budget is around $600 for a complete set. Do you have any thoughts on the Maltby clubs and or the whole custom fitted approach?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Maltby is one of the more reputable of the component club companies. They are now owned by Golf Galaxy. If there is one in your area maybe you can be fit. There are a couple of members that do some clubmaking. Maybe they will weigh in with a more informed opinon.
