I don't think you read the rest of the thread. His daughter came early and now the debate is if he goes to play for the trophy.

Well, to follow up...Mom and baby were fine so I went to play the tournament. I was working on 2 hours of sleep from the night before and averaged that much the previous 3 nights. I was a swinin' zombie and could not get off the tee, hit a hybrid, chip...nothing! I didn't place that day, and the #2 guy in the GOY standings came in 3rd which gave him just enough for the year to edge me by 1 point.

#1: My daughter is great and I could not be happer!

#2: There's always next year ;)

Your name on that trophy will become much more important than your child. If it's meant to be, you can always have another kid. That's one of those "not-much-skill-required" activities. But winning a club champoinship? THAT is an accomplishment.

sounds good to me!!! but what do i know? i'm 16....however i think it's a toss up man.....a baby is exciting, but so is that club championship......the baby's gonna pop out and i mean, nothing special it just comes but a club championship is rare. like you work harder to prepare for and win a club tournament than to make a baby. hmmm, if it was me, so i wouldn't upset the wife, i'd tell her i'd be there for her and my championship wasn't important, then i'd pray to God she's say it's okay to go play! hah!, women......

I remember on a Quantum Leap show that Sam stopped his "wifes" labor by getting her a little drunk (of course, hers was premature, and it was 1954!) but that's an option. Ha!
