Hello all,

Ok, first off let me start with friday I had a demo day at my local GC. The day went great, I sold 2300 euros worth of stuff (no iron sets) anyway, this customer came to me and told me having trouble with his long irons. I ask which ones, he told me his 3,4 and 5 iron. I said ok what is your handicap and which irons are u using? he tell me handicap 29 and he is using apex tour blades, standard length and lie. Oh by the way he is shorter then avg. I was like why are u using blades?? He told me they look "cool" I was like your right however your game doesnt look "cool" when u hit a ball 150 yards and then it travels 80 right of where u wanted to be.. Anyway I give him my card and tell him to come see me to get "fitted" he saids oh no when he gets better he get "fitted" but not before. I asked why he tells me its not worth it.. Its just someone making money by filling a customers head with bullcrap!!! I say ok try this iron ( have inch shorter and 2° flat) a 4 he swings not only did the ball get in the air it went where he wanted it to go.. needless to say he took the card and made a appointment this morning with me to get fitted next week..

Is there anyone here that thinks that club fitting is only for the pro's??

I don't think you'll find anyone here that thinks getting fit for your clubs is for pro's. On the contrary, I believe most folks here would tell you it's essential to get fit in order to get the most out of your game. I've been fit for the last 3 sets of irons I've played, I've ended up standard each time, but I could still couldn't imagine buying new sticks without being fit.

In My Bag:

Taylormade: Superquad 9.5 Aldila VS Proto 'By You' 70-S
Sonartec: SS-07 14.0 Aldila NV 85-S
Cleveland: Halo, 3i UST Irod 83-SPing: i-10 4-UW AWT-STitleist: Vokey Design Spin Milled 54.10 & 60.08Slighter: Handstamped Tacoma, 350G in Black Satin w/Sound Slot

If nothing else you can test some different shaft ball combinations at places that use a launch monitor.

1W Cleveland LauncherComp 10.5, 3W Touredge Exotics 15 deg.,FY Wilson 19.5 degree
4 and 5H, 6I-GW Callaway Razr, SW, LW Cleveland Cg-14, Putter Taylor Made Suzuka, Ball, Srixon XV Yellow

We have one.. and thats the kicker I have shown people the outcome. Sometimes they think that the info that comes out is tainted so I can sell them new equipment.. funny but that is how some people think here in Germany..
