Is this normal aging of a shaft or cause for concern??

It's been a while since I had taken a real, proper, look at my golf clubs.... the other day I decided to check em out and noticed these rust spots all over. Along with what looks like a little rust around the hosel area that concerns me a bit.

These are pictures of my 3 iron... but all my clubs down to the wedge look the same more or less. The clubs themselves were ordered brand new and custom from TaylorMade via golfsmith back in February or so they are definitely still under warranty if this issue is an applicable reason....

I haven't been a golfer too long and I don't really have any idea what the norm is for shaft/club aging and stuff so help me out!

I have 30 year old clubs that look better than that. I would demand a warranty action. I have '09 Burners steel and if they do that I will demand new clubs. Is there any place you put your clubs where any kind fumes could be getting to them, as a chemistry teacher that looks like a reaction to a vapor. If this is not your fault then I would assume TM will have a bunch of bad clubs from a bad production run. The spots on the club head worry me, is there rust on the clubhead too? I would think a bad production run would only involve the shafts.

The clubhead is a little dirty, but no spots at all on the club head.... it's just the shaft, and maybe under the hosel (you can see some rust KIND OF.)

The clubs are normally in the trunk of my 05 chevy malibu... I was wondering if maybe the humidity or rain or something would have this kind of effect.

I decided to try cleaning them today...... but I don't feel comfortable getting water and soap all around and in the hosel area... am I totally off base feeling that way?

shafts rust from the inside out. my Ap2's are the same, not worried about it.
i live in ireland so they see a lot of wet weather. you can prevent this from happening if you rub they down with a towel that was steamed and leave the sit next to a radiator for an hour or too. if you have a tour bag make sure the plastic on the inside isnt damp.
hope it helps. my shafts are dgs300 by the way,if you need to compare.

In my r7 tour bag using my tp red balls,
