#5 specifically ....

what don't I know about this putter that makes it so cheap on ebay....

http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trk...All-Categories

now i realize half of those are in shitty shape, but quite a few of them are decent to passable shape and can be sent to the Scotty shop to be restored regardless.

What about the #5 makes it not worth 100-200 dollars just like every other Scotty on ebay sans the futura?

and i've wondered this about every ebay seller ... but how'd they come across 50 or so #5's and nothing else ?

it came out close to the redx. im guessing the redx seemed more like a specialist club in the mallet catagory and the circa couldnt compete thus depreciating.

A lot of people find it an exceedingly unattractive putter, so it's demand and supply. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Also - it's still a mass produced putter. There is nothing special about it, just because it's an SC. It's hardly a rare item. OTR Cameron putters are not intrinsically valuable. If you like this style, buy it and enjoy it. Like many other putters of different makes, it may suit you. It may not.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Some people are scared off by this line's tendency to rust and easily scratch.

It's an unusual shape that is not for everyone, especially since it's not for game improvement per se.. For those reasons, people looking for a SC mallet at the time opted for the RED X instead, like someone here previously mentioned. Personally, I like it because it looks like something out of the 1960s and a conversation peace. And the feel is just great and that's what it's about, rather than high MOI.
