Apparently nobody on the board works out Zebra.

The things I do for my golf game are more about core strengthening and balance drills. It's nothing to help my swing but to help my balanace and get me stronger. Plus cardio is good for your endurance, you don't want to start losing a good round because of fatigue toward the end.

I've to admit - I don't. I'm fat and out of shape. Excercise is like quitting smoking - I know I HAVE to do it.. but I'm a miserable piece of garbage if effort and commitment is involved

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I have started working out with golf in mind.

For this I bought a rowing machine so I can do cardio vascular work - as the previous poster said, this will help you down the stretch.

I use it each morning for 10 minutes (have only just started and will build up to 20 minutes). When I finish on the rowing machine I then do 60 sit ups and 30 press ups (20 sit ups then 10 press ups - then repeat 3 times).

I then warm down doing some stretching excercises, hamstrings, quads, turning excercises (with a 2 iron behind my shoulders and turning to each side).

Basically I'm trying to gain stamina and also a bit more core strength. People sometimes underestimate how strong your legs need to be as well, if you can turn your torso without turning your hips you gain a lot more distance through the resistance you build up (ok so you kind of have to turn your hips, but you're trying to get the feeling that you're not).

So that's what I'm doing - alarm goes off at 6am, get up a 6.15, wotk out until 6.50 ish, then shower and go to work. The next few weeks will show how well it's going, but the benfits I get from losing a bit of weight and toning up will be there for my wife as well

Oh yeah, if you're going to start working out, you need to get a heart monitor - I use a Polar watch and chest strap. This makes sure your heart rate is within the range for the workout to actually be useful.

Irons - Tour Stage Z101 Forged Irons DG S300 Shatfs (2-PW) Wedges - 52* Callaway X Tour Vintage, 58* Callaway X Tour Mack Daddy VintagePutter - Scotty...

I bought one of those weighted irons and I swing it as often as I can. I was told that 5 swings with that thing is equivalent to a small bucket of balls!

About as close as I come is jumping to conclusions. Of course, I play almost every day and I walk most of the time. I suppose that would constitute exercise. I lived in a place with a full fitness center and never darkened the door of it in two years.

I do stretch daily and do some mild core strength exercises, and swing a weighted club, about 30 minutes a day and walk 30 minutes a day. You might want to go to the golf channesl site. Under instruction are various exercise programs for golfers that can be printed.
