So my buddy gets lessons with Jim Flick and he invited me along for his session yesterday. Walked in to the facility where we were greated by the staff. Nice sized building. Little meeting room of the entrance with player's staff bags with full sets. He's connected to TaylorMade so there was Reteif's bag, Sergio's set, and some local head pros. Then there were a couple club building rooms, Jim's office. Nice, but not over the top. Even nicer was the practice facililty. Sweet grass hitting arear with multiple tiers and areas to hit to and from. Three indoor stalls with full on camera set up. A large putting green. And the short yardage targets (35y, 75y and 90y) was an actual green so you could see how the ball reacts. All range balls were TaylorMade TPs, of course.

Jim Flick, wow, some serious knowledge in that guy's head. Just a warm and personable guy as well. Was cracking jokes, but was direct and to the point when he needed to be. My buddy was there for two hours and they hit on pretty much everything. Driver to SW to 6 iron to more wedge shots then finished with putting. Got some video analysis thrown in there too. Just a very nice experience.

The place was kinda empty, but Angela Park was walking out as we were walking in. There was some UCLA girl there too.

Wow, what a great experience. And he didn't mind you sitting in on the lesson? That's pretty cool.

That practice facility sounds absolutely sick.

Yeah, I was really weary of getting in his way, being a golf pro myself, I know how annoying it is with others butting in on a lesson. But he was totally cool with it, even had me doing little errands for him. My buddy also had his dad and uncle there too. But yeah, it was sweet! I took my camera with me but didn't get too many pics. Just a few with Jim and my buddy, while Mr. Flick's back was to the camera. Didn't want to be a goofball snapping pics all over the place. I was an intrusion enough just being there is a group of four. PLus I wanted to get as much out of the lesson as possible. Both mechanics of the swing he taught and his delivery. A heck of a day!

    • Day 47, June 22.  After work today, I spent 20 minutes in my indoor practice room, hitting about as many balls.  Slow, as slow as I could, 6-iron swings, same priority piece as the past month.
    • Day 291 6-22 full, faster swings, focusing on low point, missing towel. Recorded some face on and dtl. Practicing full speed changes is something I wasn't doing enough.
    • Day 2 (22 Jun 26) - used the clip the tee drill today - focused on picking the tee and then collecting the divot.  Hit a few hard foam balls later in the session.
    • Club of the week, my hybrid. Stripe show on every shot. This one was probably the best. About 240 to the green. The ball was on a severe upslope. I hit it just off the back of the green (like 1-ft.
    • That will sting for a long time. Had all the momentum in the world.  The on course heckling of WC a bit over the top. IMO, that may have even galvanized him. Kinda like RC. He may have picked up some sympathy too. So boo to the boos. I can't stand him (and it's not just the incidences) but I think when punishment outsizes the crime, the tide tend to turn. He has stuck to "I've earned the hatred" narrative. Smart kid.
