this is slightly dated but is should have most of the models you'll be looking at.

I'd choose the vokey, it's a great all rounder and I like the weight of it.

I have the tour chrome and an oil can vokeys in my set. I can't verify this and I'm sure I'll hear about it but I swear the oil can wedge has more bite to it than the others.

I have one of each so i will tell ya what i thiink

Looks- I have the CG12 in black pearl and a Vokey in tour chrome. Overall i like how the vokey looks at address better. I still love the black finish on the CG12, but something about the vokey just looks better to me.
Performance- CG12 is a better all around wedge. I use it for any shot under 100 yards.
Spin- Definitley titleist here. I can spin it back when i want to, and also control the spin very easily by manuvering the club face.
Feel- CG12. When i hit it perfect, its the best feeling in the world. It sort of plays like a bladed iron. The CG14 is more forgiving but i didnt like the looks. The Vokey is more forgiving and still have pretty good feel.

Overall- its a close one but if i would have to pick one, i would go...CG12.

(You really cant go wrong with either.)

+1, although I love my Scratch wedges and would go that way again if given the opportunity.

Never shy away from Robert Vokey.

Roger Cleveland is no slouch when it comes to designing wedges either...

Be sure to check us out for wedges as we will be the first to offer 100 percent milled wedges made in the USA. And will be able to offer a wide range of grinds and finishes. Mark B

Standard bounce for wedges is in the 8ΒΊ to 10ΒΊ range. For SWs, 12ΒΊ or above is normal if you play out of medium-soft sand. (The stock PW which comes with a set of irons is sometimes less than 8ΒΊ bounce)

The measured bounce, however, is not always the same as effective bounce. Check out Ralph Maltby's online article on wedges for details:

...a number of factors make up the real or β€œEffective Bounce” that ultimately determines the actual performance of the sole as it goes through or glides on sand or turf.
