hi- has anyone here experienced that these balls are unusually longer than other golf balls?? I usually play prov1's and today I found a taylormade burner tour golf balls - i hit it off the tee and it seemed 10 yards longer - also then hit my 4 iron with it and had the same result - any thoughts??

I love them, and they seem just as long, though I haven't sensed them being really significantly longer than others. I also have been trying all the low spin premiums, V1X, B330, One Black, Tour Ix, etc., and , for my game, I haven't found the premies to be worth the price over the Burner TP's. There is more spin from the premies around the green, but not enough for me to switch from the drastically lower proced Burner TP. Approach shots seem to be similar, with a check and stop within a foot or two, with some backup occasionally. Drives seem to be a little straighter with the TP. YMMV.

I used to use them before I started buying used Pro V1s. I tried all the 3-piece balls in the $30 range and the Burner TP was the best I found (close second was the TF Gamer, but they get chewed up real fast), but now that I've started using used Pro V1's I won't go back, and even with shipping and tax from lostgolfballs (since we are both in Houston) the used Pro V's are cheaper when bought in bulk. I really didn't see any distance difference between any of the balls, just short game spin on partial shots - the burners spin as much as a Pro V on full shots but not on partial pitches.

I often use these in practice rounds when I don't care about losing balls. They're better than the other cheapie balls and they feel "okay."

I've been playing them for a while now and are a great value. 2 doz for $45. They don't spin as good as a ProV1 but for half the price they are definitely worth it. Right now I'm trying to figure out which is longer between the TP Burner and the B-330 RX. I love the feel and spin of the RX over the TP Burner.

Don't like the burner golf balls at all, too hard.

I like the TP reds, decent amount of spin and cheap.

I use the TP Red and i think those are farther than the ProV1's, but i've never really tried the Burners.

I agree about the price, I got my premies from lostgolfball.com. I also tend to agree with your spin analysis, as the premies generally separate themselves from the mid range balls on partial shots. As I was testing the V1X's, among others, I think that the difference was a little less than if I would have been comparing the V1's.

Good analysis. Gary

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
