On a rainy day this June, I ran into some better HS golfers and a couple of small-college golfers talking drivers at a local golf shop. Three of these guys said they had most trouble with tee shots on the back nine. Suggested they started feeling super loose, and overswinging.

Also, at the Oklahoma town where I used to live the Country Club hosted a sunbaked July invitational tournament. Tourney drew lots of college players, struggling pros, and top amateurs. I was a spectator, and a 56-year-old former champion broke down his scoring results for me after 54 holes.
* Holes #1 through #13: 1 under par.
* Holes #14 through #18: 8 over par.

He said he felt he was "running out of gas" on the closing holes.

At any rate, consider getting a trolly for your bag. The new three-wheel versions are a major improvement over the old two-wheel bag-dumpers. And, congrats on being a 2 HDCP!

Focus, connect and follow through!

I struggle with finishing strong as well. I sometimes think that it is fatigue as far as my back is concerned. I'm physically fit, just my back gets tired sometimes depending on what kind of work or workout I have done prior to playing. I have really tried to stay focused and am getting better at it. But I also think I sometimes know what my score is and I'm fighting to shoot a score I'll be happy with rather than just playing one shot at a time and letting the score be what it is. My best rounds are when I'm focused on the next shot rather than my score. I fought like crazy today to finish decently after I made a couple of double bogeys. I talked myself into a birdie and I made some pars going home to shoot 79.

You say you snack, but what are you eating? If it has no nutruition in it, theres no point in eating at all. You need lots of protein, fiber (yes i know), and calories. Trade that back 9 beer for a vitamin water, and drink LOTS of regular water throughout your game.

    • Day 291 6-22 full, faster swings, focusing on low point, missing towel. Recorded some face on and dtl. Practicing full speed changes is something I wasn't doing enough.
    • Day 2 (22 Jun 26) - used the clip the tee drill today - focused on picking the tee and then collecting the divot.  Hit a few hard foam balls later in the session.
    • Club of the week, my hybrid. Stripe show on every shot. This one was probably the best. About 240 to the green. The ball was on a severe upslope. I hit it just off the back of the green (like 1-ft.
    • That will sting for a long time. Had all the momentum in the world.  The on course heckling of WC a bit over the top. IMO, that may have even galvanized him. Kinda like RC. He may have picked up some sympathy too. So boo to the boos. I can't stand him (and it's not just the incidences) but I think when punishment outsizes the crime, the tide tend to turn. He has stuck to "I've earned the hatred" narrative. Smart kid.
