Who said anything about teaching people Rickie Fowler or Jim Furyk's swing? I said, clearly, that his swing is an example of a swing that is less mechanical and more natural. More and more swing coaches are taking the natural swing of a golfer and are harnessing it or improving upon the natrual movement of that individual. So whatever your individual swing is, is what some believe as what should be improved upon rather than trying to teach or imprint mechanical moves. Obviously, there are certian swing keys that EVERY golfer should mimic, but the natural mannerisms of an individual are important. This type of idea is the same in other sports to. I played semi pro baseball after played NCAA Div 1 baseball. As a pitcher, I obtained far more success with my natural arm slot (3/4's) vs. the over the top mechanical BS that one coach tried to form me into. Yes, there are mechanical players that have great success, but there are others who have great success with depending on a swing that feels naturally normal to them.
