club lie question

So I got 9 in today and tried something new as I was having some trouble hooking shot with my irons. I decided to choke down slightly and it made a pretty decent improvement. This leads me to my question. Would I benefit from having my clubs bent a degree or two out? I recognize hitting on a lie board would be useful, but I'm curious if any of you have any thoughts on this. Thanks!

In choking down, you swung a shorter club. This will reduce any swing flaw. Period. I suggest getting fit. It is certainly true that you may benefit from a lie change. However, usually it is the archer not the arrow that is at fault. If you agree, get some lessons from a local PGA teaching pro. That person would also be able to recommend a certified clubfitter in your area. Good luck.

Shorter clubs are easier to control. Try flipping a light switch off with a 3 foot pointer... It's hard as hell. Now try using your finger... Easy. Same deal. But in the spirit of information, you cannot hope to play well if your clubs are not hitting the ground square. Get in to a fitter and hit from a lie board.
