I am trying to replace a few fairway woods. I don't like my 3 or 5 wood and barely use either of them. My 3H is ok and is lofted around 20 or 21* I believe.

I'd like to replace the fairway woods with one of these clubs. The 4DX (the 15.5* club) is about $10 more than the 17*. I like the look of the 4DX more.

Thoughts on these clubs?

In the blue Colts bag:

Driver - FT-5 10°
Hybrids - 4DX 15.5°, 20°
Irons/Wedges - CI-7 4-GW, SW | "Free" Warrior 60° LWPutter - TiffanyBalls - various

After doing some more looking I've found the 4DX in both 15.5* and 17*, so I may just buy both.

I'm talking to myself so far, but maybe someone will chime in.

Would I be best off with 15.5, 17, and 20* hybrids, or should 17 and 20 along with my 10* driver be enough? I know to a certain extent this depends on me but I am getting the impression that having 15.5, 17, and 20* sticks would be overkill.

I would go 10, 15, 20. I do not think there would be a tremendous amount of difference in the distance of the 15 and 17. That would also open up a space for another wedge if needed.

In my Clemson Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 bag

So you are ditching your hybrid then? I would use 2 clubs to cover those distances, personally mine are 17 and 21 lofted, and I don't carry a 3 wood because I'm too inconsistant with them. Since you're probably not going to be dialing in 220 yard shots from the fairway into the green, it makes sense to have less fairway woods and hybrids and more short iron clubs, since those distances are more useful. As far as woods versus hybrids, you said you hit your hybrid better than fairway woods, so why not go with hybrids? Either way, I would go to a pro shop or golf store and try them out before you buy.

I would be getting rid of my current 3w, 5w, and 3h and replacing with either a 15.5* and 20* ironwood hybrids or all 3 (15.5, 17, 20). The former is probably more reasonable but I really just want to buy all 3.

Got an old 3Dx 2h 17* and its great. Easy to hit and long. You will like it in the 5w position.

Hmmm? No woods at all? Just hybrids. I'd try to hit them before buying if it were me. As it is I found some good deals and bought 17, 23, and 26 degree hybrids. I really like them all but I hit the woods better so I strongly urge finding a way to try them unless you can get a real deal on them

It ain't bragging if you can do it.

The clubs themselves are a pretty good deal so I'm just giving it a shot. If I don't like one of them I'll re-sell or give to my dad and put a wood back in the bag. I just really don't like my 3 and 5w, they are junk.

I went ahead with the 15.5* and 20* hybrids. They'll replace my 3w, 5w, and current 3h.

Nice, I think you will like that setup, and that's all you need.

The last I heard was that they are out of business but are still honoring warantees. I don't know how that works exactly but I got both clubs for $80 new so if the heads fly off of them in 6 months I'm not terribly invested in them.
