The Freak...opinions?

Recieved these as a Christmas gift.

A last minute plan came together for an early round with some buds tomorrow and don't have time to start
at my favorite golf shop prior.

Gonna game these monsters....curious as to your opinions. Greens are fairly wet and soft so full shots will check. Chipping may
be tricky.

IMO, this time of year you want a soft, cheap, distance ball cuz you can stick greens with a 3i and spin on the green isn't a big deal this time of year.

I really like the Bridgestone e6+, but b/c they have gone up in price so its probably back to the power drive by precept for me. I don't know if they make the Laddie anymore, but that was a good winter ball.

I've seen Laddies still selling for 24/$19. I agree that it's a great value.

It's going to be low 40's at tee off this morning....Freaks may feel like rocks...we'll see.

I may be in luck as I found a sleeve of 330RX in the bottom of my bag.

The Freak is a decent ball. I might be kind of hard under these conditions, I don't know?

So how'd your round go? Where'd you play? I tried to play this morning (10AM), but it started raining on the 6th green and after the ninth I stopped. I don't have any rain gear so playing even in light rain is something I really don't like (espcially since I always walk the Patch). I need to get some decent gear, but it's so darn expensive!

I am sans raingear as well. Sure could have used it today.

We played Midland Valley.
($20 with coupons!!!!!).
Teed off around 10:00am, also. Rain was off and on on the front and steady on the back.

We all shot fairly poorly but had fun. My highlight was a nice 4H approach on the last par 5. I lipped out my eagle attempt. It was the only birdie for the day within the group.

The greens rolled as smooth and true as I've ever seen at the Valley. Speeds were fast, even when wet. There was no excuse for my poor putting.

The Freak did very well. Pulled two out of the first sleeve at the beginning of the round and rotated them on holes. Same two balls went right back in that sleeve after walking off 18th green. Wear was not bad.

Freaks putted well...checked just fine on full shots, bunker blasts (had too many oportunities), lobs and chips so no objections here.

One shot that I never tried is the low hard PW that comes in hot and zips to a stop like it's Velcro covered....recovery shot from overhead trouble usually, maybe once per 2-3 rounds.

Distance was good, in fact I'd estimate 1/2 club more on 6i, 5i, 4h and woods. Interested in seeing the performance in warmer weather.

I have no hesitations gaming this dozen until they are all lost...may buy some, too.


Cheif, are you playing anywhere tomorrow or next Thursday? I'm going to try somewhere both days. We should hook up.

My game is rusty but I'm enjoying being back in it. Missed the game dearly these past 4 months.
