There is a golf expo this weekend at the Seaport World Trade Center. I was planning to check it out on Saturday, but before I do I was wondering if any of the New England members have gone in the past and whether or not it's worth the time?

Thanks.

Yes I went to it last year, and I'm going again this year with some friends. It is what you expect it to be - a trade show more or less. There are a lot of different vendors exhibiting different things - golf vacation get aways, clothing, clubs, product demos, etc. The big golf companies are there showcasing their wares, but there are long lines for people waiting to try them. They have different areas where you can do long drive contests, putting, etc. There is also a small food court there for snacks.

It seems a lot of people go to this throughout the weekend. In general I think most folks can see everything in about 2 hours if you partake in one or two things and spend most of the other time just walking around and browsing.

In my Ogio Grom XX Stand Bag:

Taylormade JetSpeed Driver (10.5°)

Taylormade JetSpeed Fairway 3 Wood (17°)

Taylormade SpeedBlade 3H, 4H Hybrids (19°, 22°)

Taylormade SpeedBlade Wedges AW,SW,LW (50°, 55°, 60°)

I went this afternoon and I really enjoyed all the various displays and booths that were set-up. I just bought a new driver and bag a couple weeks ago, so I wasn't really in a shopping frame of mind, but I got a lot of information for some golfing trips a couple buddies and I plan to take this fall.

Best thing there was the 10 minute swing tune-up for $10. Paul, a club professional down in Fall River, took a quick look at my swing, gave me a couple pointers and gave me a couple things to work on at the range. Extremely positive experience.

Glad to hear it. It was very sparse this year. I am enrolled in Golf Tec and spoke to one of the trainers I know briefly and he mentioned how slow it was. I think the nice weather deterred many people from coming in.

I went with some friends and was there for roughly 3 hours. The majority of the booths are big on vacation packages. The long drive demonstration kept having their drivers broken. It was pretty funny.

I got that thing for free on sunday!

It must have been the weather, because it was not nearly as busy as I expected it to be. I know I was thinking about trying to play a round instead of going in to the Expo, and if I hadn't already bought the tickets online I might have.

I got that thing for free on sunday!

I guess thats the bonus of going on the last day. I'll have to remember that for next year. Still, it was well worth the $10 just to know that my swing in on the right track and doesnt need a major overhaul. After all, it's not practice that makes perfect, it's

perfect practice that makes perfect. Also, I got a two-for-one deal for your hopeful future home course, so maybe I'll see you on the links sometime.
