I have a Callaway FT-iq driver which I have played about 4 rounds with. Today I had a friend offer to sell a lightly used Ping G10 driver at a very good price. I really was not in the market for a new driver but the offer was too good to pass up. I was wanting some opinions of these drivers. Of course I will compare the drivers based on how they preform for me but would still love some input from others.

In the bag.

The G10 was the best head I've ever had. I'm still kicking myself for selling it. I grew to not like the shaft and jumped on another bandwagon.

The G10 with the right shaft for you is a superb driver.

It was certainly the longest stick I've owned.

I've got the FT-iQ (just got it) and it seems nice to me. My father got one last year (he's the sort of guy who buys the most expensive option available at every turn, but then goes and works hard with it, so ...) and when I first tried it a few months ago I was not too crazy about the square head. But I hit it pretty well and thought it had a nice mix of feedback for mishits and forgiveness, yet I was able to pull off a couple intentional draws when I wanted to. So he sent me one as a late Christmas present a couple weeks ago and it's growing on me. My only complaint right now is the cowbell-like sound (and the fact that I've yet to hit it square on the sweet spot). So I don't know, I've not used the G10, but IMO if you're comfortable with the FT-iQ I'd stick with it. It seems like a nice club. I certainly wouldn't buy a replacement just because it was cheap, unless you've got the money sitting around to accumulate gear. I don't have that luxury at the moment, so I would put the $ toward something that I felt needed replacing.

In the bag:
FT-iQ 10° driver, FT 21° neutral 3H
T-Zoid Forged 15° 3W, MX-23 4-PW
Harmonized 52° GW, Tom Watson 56° SW, X-Forged Vintage 60° LW
White Hot XG #1 Putter, 33"

Ive used both and the G10 was a much better driver 'FOR ME" Maybe not for you. As you said, your going to test them on proformence, do that and chouse what works for you! But the ping g10 was the best felling ive ever hit.
