so I absolutely love this Graphite Designs AURA Red Shaft in my driver
I am considering putting the same shaft in my 4w

this should be ok hey?

3 & 4w shafts don't really have any different characteristics than a Driver do they?
weight maybe? FW woods usually have more weight, but this shaft is 68gms
it wil also be cut to the same length as the one currently in there, it wont be the same lenght as the driver

it will be a new shaft, not a pull

any help appreciated

It depends. My driver and 3W (from 2008) came with the same shaft as stock; one of the Big Bertha women's sets had same Aldila shaft as standard for Driver and FWs. Others in Callaway line had different shafts for D vs. FWs, or hybrids.

Check out the Graphite Design shaft site. Appears your shaft is for woods in general:

You would use the exact same shaft, just tipped per spec for the appropriate fairway wood, then cut to length.

Driver 905S, V2 stiff shaft
3-Wood 906F2 13 degree, V2 stiff
Hybrid 585H 21 degree, Aldila VS Proto
Irons (4-PW) MP-57, Rifle 5.5

Generally, people prefer a lower kick point in their fairway woods. An Aura Gold, Blue, or Green would probably suit you better. Fairway woods with high kick points are hard to get airborne, and most tour pros and elite amateurs carry FW woods in the next color down. For example, if you had Whiteboard in the driver, Blueboard would be best for the fairway woods. If you had ProLaunch red in the driver, Prolaunch blue would go in the fairway woods. If you have an AXIVcore green or red driver, you'd want black or blue fairways. If you have a Serrano in the driver, you'd want a Wasabi in the fairway woods.

That generally is your best bet, because the driver is on a tee, you need a lower launching shaft to make up for it.

I thought about that today actually
about putting the blue instead of the Red
I have a really high laugh angle w the driver, so i need to keep it low

but getting it off the deck is a different story

hmmm......maybe the blue is better suited then

I have a really high driver launch angle (15-17°) and I still prefer the lower kick shafts on the fairway woods. Because it's a shorter shaft, you get more whip to begin with, so extra lift really helps. I don't hit my fairway woods as high as I'd like to, even with that high driver launch.
