Here's an article which talks about Trevino planning to use two drivers in the 1973 Masters. It's from the Spokane Daily Chronicle - I can't find the golf magazine version in my searches:

Ah thank you. I only ever heard of Phil Mickelson doing this I thought you got them mixed up

Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Diablo 9º
2 Hybrid: Callaway Big Bertha Heavenwood
Irons: Nike Slingshot OSS 6-3 iron
          Taylormade Tour Preferred PW-7 iron
Wedges: Cleveland CG14 50º, 54º
              Taylormade RAC 58º
Putter: Ping Darby 32" shaft
