today i was hitting down on the ball great! best feeling in the world when your 150 out and you pull out your 8 iron and get great contact and stick it within 10 feet

today after just 3 weeks into golfing this year, was 1 one over in the front 9. Missed a 10 foot putt by 1/8 of an inch to put me at even, and that would have been my best score of my life. but couldnt quite get it

one question though is how do you get backspin from it? Our greens are really hard and fairways suck so that might why but when i get a nice crisp shout with my 60 degree it will still roll about 2 feet. How do i get backspin?

The simple response is probably that you can't. Hard greens are not receptive.

And ball choice might be a factor--it's a heck of a lot easier to put spin on a urethane-covered "premium" ball than a surlyn distance ball, some more than others (i.e. ProV1 probably the easiest to spin back -- too much for my game).

highest ball flight as possible while trapping it always spins the ball for me......i wanna minimize spin myself......i would love it to land one hop and stop.....sometimes i spin em off the green on full wedge shots from 120-85 yrds...tears the ball up too so that sux.....

Fresh grooves and ball choice might help but just play to what you are given. Bump and run on hard greens.

Are you sure you didn't miss by 0.5"?
