when is it time to change grips?

so i've had my wedge for about 2yrs, and im wondering if i should be looking to change the grip. i dont play that much, maybe about 2 range sessions per week, and 2 rounds per month. i do notice that compare to the other grips, this one is more slippery. some websites suggest to change your grip every 6months or so. just curious about how much difference a new grip would make.

also ive been thinking about doing grips myself. however, golfsmith only charges about 3dollars for installation. i understand that if i regrip my entire set, that would save some money. but if it's just 1 club, it probably doesnt make much sense. what do you guys think?

i change mine after every season .. i also play competitively though. i'd probably do yours every other season if you dont want to spend the money every season. if money isnt an issue, do it every season for sure.

one thing you can try is taking super hot water ... and a hard kitchen scrub brush and scrub the grip ... this makes them extra tacky ... i even do this on my brand new grips ... it'll make a grip i just purchased more sticky than it was brand new. i do this before every event i play in(one a week).

When your wedge ends up on the green along with your ball after your swing, it's time to change grips, or as soon as you can see the chrome on the shaft shine through, LOL

Annual grip changes are good. You can stretch that a bit with corded grips.

The cords on my iron & wedges are now 12 months old and I'll most likely
change them to GPride NDMC before this summer.
