You guys are really hard on all the tour players that have fallen short of beating Tiger here lately. You guys must remember that his father Earl was a green beret. Tiger's mind is on a different level than your average tour player. I can just imagine some of the mind games that Tiger went through at the hands of his father. Earl Woods knew what he was doing. Stewart Cink had his chance at the Bridgestone but didn't capitalize on it. He just didn't have the mental capacity.Iwilling to bet that 99% of the tour players never went through green beret training like Tiger did.

Cink had his opportunities and failed to close the door. But also, Tiger proves again he can bring his "B" game and still put himself in position to win.

His game is off a little and he adjusts, changes gears and grinds it out. That has to hurt the field more than a clear win with his "A" game.

Where was world #2, Phil? 18 back?

at what point do you begin to feel sorry for these sad sacks that get into a playoff or in the final group with Tiger? While I enjoy watching Tiger play and win, I cringe at the players trying to stay with him or beat him. I mean Cink hung around but did anyone ever think he had a chance? Tigers duel with Dimarco at the Masters was compelling, but I don't consider the duel between Cink and Tiger as that, more like watching a train wreck.

I have found myself wondering which hole Tiger's opponents would self-destruct on instead of just watching to see if they could actually beat him. It is just a given for me that Tiger will prevail 99% of the time. Firestone proved that even with his "B" game he can still find a way to win. If you have that will, it is just hard to beat you.
