Carbon nanotubes shaft?

I've seen some golf shafts made from Carbon nanotubes material.
What is so special about them (carbon nanotubes shaft are more expensive than average) ?
Is it different from standard graphite shaft ?

CNT - Carbon Nanotube Technology is a technique that I've seen used in the cycling industry for handlebars, stems, frames and wheels. It's a different method of bonding the carbon and provides a stiffer and lighter component, Easton uses it heavily in their higher end products. As far as golf shafts? I have no clue.

the CNT technology is basically like bambu made from graphite. it is very light, strong, flexible, and durable as compared to standard graphite. usually when u see "Carbon Nano Tube" on the side of a golf shaft, it means that the shaft is wrapped in a layer of this CNT for stability. example would be a aldila proto vs 'by you'.

So Carbon nanotubes is a new material and better (more consistent than a steel shaft). So Why the latest shafts does not use carbon nanotubes ?

I don't know anything specific about them, but every material has strengths and drawbacks. Obviously hickory shafts and persimmon heads have been so completely outclassed by "modern" materials that, aside from a few aficionados and art pieces, no one uses them any more. But graphite is "better" than steel, yet there are still reasons to prefer steel shafts. If it's stiffer and lighter than standard graphite/fiberglass shafts, then it's only an improvement if you actually want a stiffer, lighter shaft. Also, you have to consider the cost---it's possible that the material is more expensive or less durable than the other options, which would be a reason not to use it. Basically, the "best" material is a very complex question...

Most of my 1 piece hockey sticks use this stuff...but then again they are in the $200 plus dollar range.
