So I recently went to my demo day and I tested all the major OEM irons out. While I was there I found out that my PX 5.5s are to light for me so I need, well want, to reshaft my irons. I hit Dynamic Gold S300s pretty good and I also hit the X100s really good. The Rifle 6.0s where good but the 6.5s seemed like a little to much. I prefer a lower/medium ball flight and so I don't know if I should get some s300s or 6.0s. I am curious thought if any of you have reshafted some irons recently and about what it cost to do so?

You going to do it yourself of have someone else do it?

Most places charge like $20 per club for labor. Then you pay for the shaft and grip separately.

I've re-shafted my own clubs multiple times, and if you are handy, I'd recommend doing it yourself. Its really pretty easy with the right equipment. Getting the head off the old shaft is the hardest part, but its easy with the correct torch.

Dumb question I think. My 3 and 4 hybrid irons (Adams Tech OS) are set up for draw. Is there a way to reshaft the club and make them square or normal??

Just had my clubs reshafted.... cost me $15 a club to have the S300's pulled and have the KBS Tours put in. The KBS's I bought were pul outs with new grips.

Thanks, thats not the answer I was hoping for but thats okay just means I either need to learn to hit it without the draw or buy some new sticks

Thanks for all the replies guys. I hit some 6.0s yestreday at the range and even thought I wasn't hitting the ball good at all they just seemed to be really heavy towards the grip. I am gonna try the s300s and see how those feel. I just know I would be better off with a stiffer shaft and something a hair heavier.

Best thing to do is buy a normal driver and hit the range everyday for a month hitting at least 30+ balls, move the ball around, move your feet around, change your grip, etc... etc.... until you figure out what works for you, there is no correct swing, only your swing and making it square at impact, whatever you gotta do to make that happen is your correct swing

Unless you get paid to play golf, you won't notice a difference between the S300 and S400 shafts, just go right to the X100's

I hit the PX 5.5 for 2 years. I liked them, but I was inconsistant. I recently purchased new irons with X100 sensicore shafts. Theses shafts are heavy and 'STIFF'. So I reshafted (DIY) with S300, +1 on smooth as silk. These shafts are the bomb. If you are still interested I have the x100's in my garage (4-P).

    • On my trip at Bandon. I have a couple of best shots come to mind. I had kind of a stupidly good short game shot out of some nasty stuff. I didn't really make any bombs putting.  I could say any drive I hit straight that was hitting directly into the wind, lol. That was nasty. I literally hit a ball like 150 yards right. I am going with my drive on hole 18 at Old MacDonald. 469 yard par 4, down wind. The narrowest fairway on the course, and you have to navigate two sets of bunkers. I stripe one down the middle, catch the slope and have to roll out to about 95 yards to the pin. So yea, that 370-ish drive in the fairway on a 469 par 4 wins the shot of the week.
    • Day 2: mirror work while watching some TV. Checking on some backswing stuff primarily - making sure I’m still steep enough in the backswing.
    • Day 88 (28 Jul 25) - Short session this afternoon after a full day of yard work at the house.  Worked on setup and tempo thru the shot with the 52° wedge in the backyard.  Hit about 20 balls total - just staying focused on the process.
    • Day 10: More putting with the metronome. Short putts feel really slow and long putts feel really fast. Getting more comfortable every day.
    • Day 301 - 2025-07-28 Watched a lot of golf today at Fox Chapel, but then came home and did some mirror work. Re-dedicated. Which is saying something, as I've been playing okay. But relying on my athleticism to just do "okay."
