Wow! What a Freakin' Day!

I'm gonna make this quick because I typically post round recaps in my blog... but, what a day I had! Woke up to a downpour. It just was NOT a day that I was looking forward to playing... but then I saw the radar and it looked like by the time I was set to tee off... it would mostly be cleared out. Just cool and overcast with a little mist. We ended up being sent off about 40 minutes sooner than we expected and without any warmup time.

On the 4th hole... I came within 8 inches of my first hole in one. The ball landed JUST to the left of the hole, but then rolled out to about 8 feet. I was excited because I thought I'd easily nab the closest to the pin prize on that hole... but someone else was only 1'8" away, so... no dice.

Anyway... the day went on, and after an UGLY hole on the 11th... we came to another par 3. It was playing about 120 yards so I pulled my pitching wedge and let it fly. The ball hit the front of the green... one hop and then began rolling. One of the guys in my group said it was going in... I watched, and then the ball disappeared. I did it! Hole in one! I don't know if I've ever felt better on a golf course.

That began a string of holes in which I played really, really well (for me). I ended the day with an 89, breaking the 90 barrier for the first time in my career.

So, in a single round... I broke 90 for the first time AND had a hole in one.

What a day!

Thanks everyone. It was an absolutely awesome feeling. I didn't believe it was EVER going to happen. I've been playing for 18 years. A near miss earlier and then I dropped one.
