i think andres romero who isnt on the list would have a chance, blows very hot and cold but almost won the open couple of years back so he can do it.. but it has to be rory what a player

The smart money is on Rory, but I really like Dustin Johnson, the young man has major game. So I'm the one knucklehead that voted for him. I think AK should probably have the lowest odds though, that guy shows a sort of charging ability, not quite on Tiger's level but he can make Sunday runs.

He should, great great player. And already has the experience of winning a few times.I suppose though, you only get one vote and there's a lot of good names up there, someone's gonna get the short end of the stick.

A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

The top three vote getters sounds about right to me. Rory, Kim, Villegas.

Another interesting question ; Anyone think one of these players will win that first Major this year?

I think there's a decent chance of it happening.PGA maybe. And Rory tends to play very well at St.Andrews..

Good question. I like Roy's chances at St. Andrews. I could see anyone winning the PGA too. What a great lineup of majors this year, obviously Pebble Beach and St. Andrews are the classics, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this Whistling Straights course. Honestly, you'd swear it's in Ireland or something.

Anthony Kim with Sean O'Hair a close second. Ak plays well in big tourneys and will probably be close at the PGA this year.

Im gonna have to back my homey Rors for this with AK a very close second, Fowler 3rd.

    • You can pre-order an R50 here for pretty rapid shipping (these are back-ordered almost everywhere): https://www.playbetter.com/products/garmin-approach-r50-golf-launch-monitor-simulator?ghref=2301%3A700794. This is an affiliate purchase, and I'm willing to kick back lifetime ad-free Supporter membership here on TST or a 90-minute GEARS session for the cost of a regular member lesson (about 1/3 the cost). Also, I'll record a video myself soon when I get an R50.
    • Day 58 - 2024-11-27 Some quick 90-yard shots on a particular hole… before a lesson and testing out multiple Foresight Launch Monitors on GSPro.
    • Day 209 (27 Nov 24) - Easy session with the LW - short pitches replicating greens side up and downs. Finished up with the 7i and hard foam balls - making 1/2 to 3/4 swings with deliberately slowed tempo…from varied lies.
    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
